Joins NVIDIA’s Inception Incubator

Seattle, WA—October 18, 2018—For Immediate Release

DISASTER INTELLIGENCE (www.disaster-ai.com) today announced joining the NVIDIA Inception program, a virtual accelerator designed to nurture startups revolutionizing industries with advancements in AI and data sciences.

Inception provides DISASTER INTELLIGENCE critical access to NVIDIA’s global ecosystem—a massive network of deep learning experts and thought leaders, as well as early access to state-of-the-art technologies employed at every level of operations, from live, real-time geospatial analytics, to revolutionary forecast Ai development.

Today’s large scale natural disasters, hurricanes, wildfires or major flooding events create data at a pace that outstrips the capability of existing CPU-constrained solutions. As a result, global leaders facing large scale catastrophic disasters need the performance extreme analytics provide. Yet aging CPU limited platforms, architected for an earlier era, simply cannot handle the volume of data required to deliver the necessary insight or context.

DISASTER INTELLIGENCE‘s revolutionary GPU based distributed analytics & geospatial platform is designed to solve this longstanding problem.

Before Nvidia’s DGX servers, interactive performance with data at this scale simply wasn’t possible,” noted Disaster Intelligence CTO, Jonathan Flack, “NVIDIA’s DGX has totally re-written what’s possible. Today, our GPU based platform provides a shared common information picture, aggregating the largest, most diverse array of commercial and public datasets ever assembled for Emergency Management.” The platform is readily integrated with existing operational platforms used widely by utilities globally through a flexible API proxy, and is backed by powerful forecasting Ai.

Utilizing distributed hyper computing on the World’s fastest GPU based systems from NVIDIA, the platform is capable of millisecond level performance with tens of billions of records. The result; improved information flow & communication between stakeholders, heightened situational awareness, faster, more accurate response, and more effective decision-making.

NVIDIA’s Inception program is contributing to development during the most critical stage of product development, prototyping and deployment by providing a custom set of ongoing benefits, from hardware grants and marketing support, to training with deep learning experts.

DISASTER INTELLIGENCE was founded in 2018, and is the first company to envision the use of cognitive technologies together with real time geospatial analytics, applied purely to the challenge of Emergency Management, and large scale disaster response & recovery.

The platform’s cross-filter paradigm meets the need for modern self-service data discovery, critical when working with today’s massive data sets. When users click on any dimension in geospatial, charts or graphs, we simultaneously redraw every other visualization in a dashboard to reflect the new context IN REAL TIME. This is a transformative way to quickly find correlations and outliers in data.

DISASTER INTELLIGENCE is a member of the National Information Sharing Cooperative (NISC), and is working closely with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) on a number of initiatives, including the Outage Data Initiative, which standardizes power outage reporting for utilities, mutual aid and emergency management.

The platform redefines operational analytics by giving users the power to query and visually explore highly diverse, multi-billion row, high-velocity datasets at the speed of thought.
